Joseph E. Allen, 83, who had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Wrightsman, 1825 Redwood Lane, died Saturday evening at Bowles nursing home, Clarks Hill, where he had been a patient since February, 1960. Born in Tippecanoe county and a lifetime resident, he moved to Lafayette in 1950. He was a member of the Congress Street Methodist church. A 1914 graduate of Valparaiso University, he had been treasurer of Biggs Pump and Supply company for more that 20 years, then was bookkeeper for the Shambaugh Trucking company until his retirement in 1950. In 1899 he married Dora Kennedy, who died in 1960. Mrs. Wrightsman is the only immediate survivor. Friends may call at Soller-Baker funeral home after 5 p. m. Monday Services in Soller-Baker chapel at 10 a. m. Tuesday. Rev. Earl Heimburger officiating; interment in Johnson Cemetery, Stockwell. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Mrs. E. Max Snyder of Lafayette
