Erected in 1993, the monument is dedicated to the Victims of the Pogrom. In the first state-inspired actions of anti-semitism against Jewish people of the 20th century, 49 were murdered in the Kishinev Pogrom of 1903. The victim's were reburied on this site in the 1960s and the present memorial was placed over their graves on the 90th anniversary. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
