She was one of four children born to the late Ida Mae (Watkins) Bowens and was the ex-wife of the late Winston Adair. Allie will forever be remembered by her devoted sisters Anna Florence (Bowens) Suggs and Dorothy "Dot" Ruth (Bowens) Whitmore, loving brother Herman Hamilton Bowens, Jr., nephews Harold(Suggs), Harvey(Suggs), Trevor(Bowens), Romel(Bowens), Cleveland(Bowens) and VeDale(Bowens), and nieces Annette(Suggs), La Juana(Whitmore), Quendrida(Whitmore), Kandace(Bowens) & Zorana(Bowens), along with countless other family & friends whom were blessed to know her. Allie loved listening to jazz music, laughing, and being with her family.
Allie touched the lives of many people with her laughter and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 11th, 2010, at 10am at New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Rd., Memphis, TN 38109.
