Lenny Jay Lee, 50, of Irene, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 as a result of motorcycle accident.

Lenny was born February 13, 1959 in Viborg, SD to Orris and Olive (Miller) Lee. He Graduated from Irene High School in 1977. He worked at a radio station in Yankton. He then moved to Gillette, Wyoming. From there he moved to Austin, Texas where he worked at various jobs for 20 years, until moving back to South Dakota in 2005, to help out taking care of his dad. He was presently working for G & S Construction in Irene.

He married Carol Torkington on June 22, 2002 in Austin, TX.

Lenny is survived by his father Orris Lee & special friend Tooty Rudd, two sisters Glenyce (Dennis) Culver, Gayville, SD, Julie (Bob) Johnson, Chester, SD, sister in law Donna (Larry) Lee, Mission Hill, SD also many nieces and nephews, special friend JoJane Nickels of Cody, WY and all of his special friends in Austin, TX.

He was preceded in death by his mother Olive Lee, wife Carol Lee and brother Larry Lee, maternal grandparents & paternal grandparents and nephew Kyle Culver.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Hansen Funeral Home in Irene with Rev. Lance Lindgren officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Irene.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, September 8, at the Hansen Funeral Home.

I met Lenny when he was working the door at the Saxon Pub in Austin, Tx. He was a great guy. Always in a good mood and fun to chat with. I had also met his soon to be wife there as well. She was a sweetheart. It's hard to believe they are both gone. Rest ...(Read more)
