Sarah Elizabeth Baker is the oldest daughter of Eliza Harriet White and Bartholomew Baker. She married Billington Aaron Baker September 13, 1857.

Mrs. Baker Dies at Age of 103
Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Baker, 103, of Asbury, in Marshall County, believed to have been North Alabama's oldest resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlotte McCullough, in Cullman Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Baker, who was born in Clay County August 3, 1837, moved to Etowah county as a child, crossing Coosa River by ferry south of Gadsden. Her family first settled in Etowah County but later moved to Marshall and she had resided at Asbury most of her life.

She had remained in excellent health and was stricken only a week ago while visiting her daughter in Cullman.

Surviving are one son, W.A. Baker, Ashbury, and one daughter, Mrs. McCullough of Cullman. A large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock today at the Asbury Baptist Church and burial will follow in the Asbury cemetery.
