Mrs. Nancy Caldwell, of Tennessee township, died on Friday morning of, [sic] last week. The deceased, together with her husband, Samuel Caldwell, emigrated from Taylor county, Ky., in the year 1830, and settled in Sangamon county, this State [sic]. In the spring of 1832 they came to McDonough county, and for a time were residents of Macomb. Afterwards they removed to the neighborhood where she died. In 1842 Mr. Caldwell died.--The deceased was in her 86th year, 33 of which she spent in widowhood, a devoted mother, a kind neinhbor [sic], and a consistant [sic] christian. For the past two years she for the most part had been confined to her bed by the infirmities of old age. From these she has now been released and taken home to rest. Thus it is, one by one, the old settlers of McDonough are passing away, and in a very few years they will all be gone.
