William Cullers O'Flaherty, Jr., the youngest of William's children, was born at the once famous Seven Fountains, Virginia in Powell's Fort Valley on November 13, 1911. He attended elementary school in the Fort Valley at Detrick, Virginia.
The family moved to a farm near Woodstock, Virginia about 1922, therefore, William attended high school in Woodstock. He graduated in June 1929.
His first marriage was very unfortunate. He married Anne Pallas on April 6, 1938. This marriage ended in divorce even though Bill was at that time confined to an army hospital with a war-related disability.
From 1945 to 1951 Bill was an aid to his brother Ed in his furniture store in Mt. Jackson, Virginia. I am sure Bill would have me say that Ed was a great help to him in recovering his health.
In April 1951 William accepted a Civil Service position with the Department of the Army, where he has been continuously employed up to this date.
On February 20, 1962 he married Betty Louise Carper. They have two lovely children:
Jane Marie born November 10, 1962,
William Edward born February 21, 1964,
They reside at 304 N. Howard Street, Alexandria, Virginia.
NOTE: Bill was killed in an automobile accident. PDO
