"...Maxine Kingsbury was born on May 22, 1914, at Granger, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert Kingsbury and Verna Laing. During her youth the family relocated to Winnebago County, Iowa, where Maxine remained during her adult life. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1931.
In 1933 she was married to Floyd Smith in Forest City. They resided in the Thompson area during their marriage. Floyd passed away in 1949.
In 1952 she was wed to Herbert (Mike) Friesenborg in Thompson. They spent 38 years together when Mike passed away on December 22, 1990.
She was employed by various merchants and businesses in Thompson while raising her seven sons. Maxine was also noted for her involvement in the affairs of the Methodist Church, the community and the many friends and relatives she enjoyed in the area.
Maxine passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa.
She is survived by her brother Walter Kingsbury of Crystal Lake; one sister Laura Harms of Long Beach, California; four sons: Maynard Smith of Algona, Iowa, James Smith of Cabazon, California, Gary Smith of Richmond, Texas, and Michael Friesenborg of Corwith.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her two husbands, four brothers, three sisters and three sons."
