Mrs. Irene Simpson, wife of W. H. Simpson, died Monday night after a protracted illness at her home near the golf course.
She was born in Stokes County, N.C., but had made her home here for some time.
She is survived by her husband, W. H. Simpson and two children, Mrs. Maizie Simpson of Albemarle, N.C., and Fidus G. Simpson of Martinsville.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home of her son, F. G. Simpson of Forrest Avenue.
Interment took place at Oakwood Cemetery.
