Funeral of Leon W. Barber held Sunday

The body of Leon W. Barber, who died in Fance from injuries received in an automobile accident September 13, 1918, reached the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brit Barber, near Chapel Hill, last Saturday, and was buried at the Mount Hickory Cemetery Sunday following at 10 o'clock. The funeral services were held at the Chapel Hill Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. E. B. Redus, the pastor, whose address on the solemn occasion was eloquent and impressive. A large congregation was present to pay tribute to the memory of the soldier who gave his life for the cause he represented. Provost D. G. Morris, of Tarboro, N. C., escorted the body to the old home. A touching incident of the sad occasin was the presentation of the flag to the dead soldier's mother by Rev. Redus with msot appropriate remarks.
