William was shot by his son-in-law July 1904.

Per His Wife's Confederate Widow's Pension,, He joined Co. H of the 43rd Georgia in Hall County 1862. He was Wounded in His Thigh/leg at The Battles of Vicksburg, Miss. Rest In Peace.
