Deloris Hart Obituary
Deloris Maxine Hart, 78, of Mattoon, passed from this life at 7:10 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2005, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services in tribute to her life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21st, at the Schilling Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery, southwest of Mattoon. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Deloris was born August 16, 1927, in Paradise Township, Coles County, a daughter of Glen and Ruth (Coen) Waggoner. She married Donald J. Hart on May 20, 1944. He passed away August 14, 1999. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Waggoner and Jesse Waggoner; two sisters, Mary Hickmott and Phyllis Ferguson; and two grandchildren, Ty VonBerge and Wendy VonBerge. Survivors include her two daughters, Donna Bradley and husband Paul of Kewanna, Indiana and Audrey Byrnes and husband Paul of Bingham; her son, Donald John Hart Jr. and wife Lynn of Bourbonnaise; seven sisters, Virginia Rackley of Onarga, Rhita Brniak of Chicago, Irma Allen and husband Paul of Charleston, Pauline Ariel and Vera Barber, both of Park Forest, Audrey Alford and husband Robert of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Doris Wentzel and husband Harry of Mahomet; six grandchildren, Lisa VanVleet and husband Robert, George Ellis and wife Dawn, all of Kentland, Indiana; Laura Billetz and husband Joseph of Brunswick Hills, Ohio; Angela Jillson and husband Neil, Kimberly Rich and husband Chris, all of Crown Point, Indiana; James Byrnes and wife Rae Ann of Thornton, Colorado; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hart was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Hill United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was the second daughter in her family and she co-authored along with her sisters, a book entitled "The Ten Sisters, A True Story" which she was very proud of and was published and sold both locally and nationally and is available from Mattoon Public Library. Deloris was blessed with a green thumb and was an avid gardener throughout her life and also enjoyed traveling to many places, both near and far.
