Preston Smith,79 of Climax, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born March 12, 1921 in Rockcastle County, the son of Roy and Rachel Milburn Smith. He was a retired farmer. Survivors are one son, Lee Roy Smith of Eubank, one daughter Lucy Jane Cole of Climax. One sister, Pearl Sturgill of Mt. Vernon and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Gibbons Smith. Services Saturday, March 1 at Brush Creek Holiness Church with Rev. Olen McGuire officiating. Burial was in the Johnetta Cemetery. Dowell & Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Lee Roy Smith, Joe Byrd, Eugene McCoy, Tommy Lee Wagner, Edgar Wagner and John C. McCoy.
