Mrs. Braswell died on Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1906, in DeKalb County to the late Andrew and Rebecca Malone Johnson. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Stevens Street Baptist Church.
Her family includes three sons, Hubert L. and James H. Braswell, both of Cookeville, and Shelah Paul Braswell of Baxter; five daughters, Helen Ruth Randolph and Rebecca Jean Herron, both of Cookeville, Marie McNeeley of Elizabethton, Loretta Inglis of Arrington and Betty Harris of Hendersonville; a brother, Thurman Johnson of Smithville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Braswell was preceded in death by her husband, Shelah Braswell, and three sisters, Mattir Rutledge, Lucille Sanders, and Clara Cubbins.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Randolph, Michael Braswell, Randy Braswell, Ricky Braswell, Brent Harris, Scott Herron, Mark Inglis, Tommy Randolph and Dr. David McNeeley.
Memorial donations may be made to Stevens St. Baptist Church Building Fund by contacting the church.
Bros. Jimmy Arms and Tim Frank will officiate at the services.
