Dorothy was born to James E. and Martha Ann (Gillock) Sutton. She married Frank Bowles on July 7, 1935 and moved to Eaton County in 1937. Frank and Dorothy bought the Potterville Grain Elevator in 1961 and ran the business together, retiring 32 years later. Dorothy and Frank attended church 20 years in Eaton Rapids, 20 years in Lansing, and 20 years at First Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bowles were held Wednesday, August 6 at the Pray Funeral Home with Rev. William Kinnan officiating. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice, or Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital.
