Funeral services for Mrs. Lena M. Mayer, 87, formerly of Plymouth, who died Sunday in Morgantown, W. Va., will be at Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth. The Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor, will officiate, with burial in St. Peter UCC Cemetery, town of Rhine.
Mrs. Mayer, widow of Ernst, had been living for the past year in Morgantown with her daughter, Mrs. Donald Gillmore. The former Lena Mueller, she was born in the town of Rhine, May 19, 1885, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mueller. Her marriage to Mr. Mayer took place in Rhine, March 16, 1911. Following marriage the couple lived in Plymouth where Mr. Mayer was in the soft drink manufacturing business. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1961. Mr. Mayer died in December 1965. Mrs. Mayer was a member of Salem UCC and its Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Gillmore (Johanna), are three other daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Adeline) Schroeder, Toronto, Canada, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Wilcox, Topeka, Kan., and Mrs. Eugene (Gertrude) Harbrecht, Fairborn, Ohio; a son, Harold, Phillips; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Three sisters preceded her in death.
