Terry Bowen said goodbye to this earth and left for heaven on December 1, 2010, seven weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. She left her husband Jim, six children, 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren behind.
Terry led an interesting life. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 28, 1929 to Hilda and Fred Thiele, and graduated from Mt. St. Agnes High School in 1948. A year later, she met her future husband, Jim, and they were married on September 9, 1950 in Baltimore. A week later, he was recalled for service in the Navy for Korea and for the next six years, she moved many times to Virginia, California, back to Virginia, to South Carolina and back to California (with three children by then) and lived in San Diego for 20 years and added three more children to the group. She always said, "If you don't like where you are living, wait a few minutes." Then they moved to Boise, Idaho where they resided for the last 22 years.
Terry loved the Catholic Church and in particular St. Mark's with its wonderful group of ministries and enjoyed being a lector, Eucharistic Minister, a RCIA sponsor and visiting the sick. With her husband, she started a visiting ministry for the parish and with the aid of over 80 other volunteers brought communion to 185 people who were not able to get to church. She also loved bridge and the St. Mark's bridge group.
Her main hobbies were gardening and vermiculture, growing worms for the garden, and her garden was always a beautiful sight. Terry earned the rank of Master Gardener and enjoyed passing on the knowledge to friends and family.
Terry also loved singing and dancing and was a semi-professional singer in her youth and sang in many churches. Terry always had flowers and candles on the table (if you want to know why, ask one of her children).
Terry is survived by her husband, Jim; six children: Thomas, John (Laveta), Susan, Joseph (Kathy), Mary Therese (Saturnino) and Robert. She loved her family very much and saw nearly all of them in June when she and Jim celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. All six children were also able to visit in the last few weeks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Hilda and Gloria.

A special thank you to Four Rivers Hospice who made her last days much more pleasant and particularly to Nurse Jennifer, who was her angel.
