| Birth: | Jul. 2, 1954 Pierce County Washington, USA | | Death: | Nov. 26, 2010 Tacoma Pierce County Washington, USA | Dean B. Dearinger Gone Fishing Early in the morning of Friday, November 26, 2010, Dean B. Dearinger, a lifelong resident of the Tacoma area, passed away peacefully in his sleep following a long illness. His wife of 35 years was at his bedside. He was surrounded by family at Thanksgiving, and that evening he was even able to enjoy his favorite snack, a turkey sandwich, along with a slice of pie. He kept his sense of humor to the very end, even joking that his turkey sandwich had better be a good one. Dean was first of all a family man. He worked all his life to provide for his family, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Despite his illness he continued working, and he never complained. For the past 20 years Dean was a journeyman electrician for the Tacoma News Tribune. Before that he had been a longtime employee of the Buffelen Company of Tacoma. Dean could fix almost anything, and even during his hospice care he was able to supervise repairs around the house. He had a wide range of interests that included genealogy and photography, but above all, he enjoyed fishing. Born July 2, 1954 to Dale and Ramona Dearinger, he was the third of five brothers: Dale Jr., David, Dean, Dirk, and Darren. In addition to his mother and brothers, Dean is survived by his wife Pam, his daughter Faye and son-in-law Tim Gollob of Tacoma, son Dylan and daughter Jessica Dearinger, both of the home, Jessica's boyfriend David Boardman, and Faye's children: Paige, 16; Brendan, 6; Peyton, 3; and Rhys, aged 3 months. Dean was preceded in death by his father Dale and his granddaughter Charlotte. Dean was a kind, thoughtful, good-natured, cheerful, and generous person. He was a quiet man and a true gentleman who genuinely cared about others. He had many friends and a large extended family. He was dearly loved and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him well. The Dearinger family wishes to thank all those who expressed their good wishes during his final days. We also want to give our thanks to hospice and especially to his wonderful nurse, Beverly. A celebration of Dean's life will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Weeks' Dryer funeral home in Parkland, WA. The service will be followed by a reception.
