British actor, most noted for his comic roles. RADA trained, Beckinsale appeared in classic comedies such as "Rising Damp," "Porridge," and "Lovers." He died of a heart attack in the middle of making the film "Bloomers." His two daughters Kate (Pearl Harbour) and Samantha both followed their father into the acting profession.
