AMBOY WOMAN DIES---JANE THOMAS, NATIVE OF TIPTON COUNTY EXPIRES IN PERU HOSPITAL--
Amboy, Ind., Jan 29 (Tribune Special)- Mrs. Jane Thomas, 81, died at Duke's hospital in Peru, at 9:45 o'clock Saturday night. She had been in the hospital for about six weeks suffering from a gall bladder infection.
The deceased was born in Tipton County, near Windfall, Jan 12, 1858, the daughter of Stephen and Abigail Shockney. She was married in (Nov 2) 1874 to Isaac Thomas of Amboy, whose death occurred about eight years ago. They had lived in Amboy all their married life.
Eight children were born to them, three dying in childhood. Children surviving are Arthur of Amboy; Wilbur of Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. Grace Marsh of Muncie; Mrs. Esther Overman of Lynn, Ind. and Glen of Fort Wayne. She leaves also 9 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 10 brothers and sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thomas was a birthright member of the Friends church and for fifty years was a member of the W.C.T.U.
Funeral services will be held at the Amboy Friends Church at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Aaron Napier of Winchester in charge. Burial will follow in Amboy cemetery.
