A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, in Sandy Funeral Home for Mary Layng, who died Dec. 10 at age 88.
Mrs. Layng was born March 13, 1912, in Cottage Grove. Her maiden name was Aubrey. A homemaker, she lived in Boring from 1942 until August, when she moved to Sandy. She was also prep cook for Heidi's Restuarant from 1968 until about 1977. In 1930, she married Milton Layng; he died in 1996.
Survivors include her sons, George and Dan; sister, Roetta Adams; brother, Calvin Aubrey; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Carol Gregson, died in 1993.
Interment will be in Brumbaugh Cemetery in Cottage Grove. The family suggests remembrances to Mt. Hood Hospice.
