Mr. Pierce was born near China Spring and attended school in the community. He also attended Four-C Business College in Waco. He worked for Gulf Oil Co. for 23 years and for Shell Oil Co. from 1968 until retiring in 1977.
He was a deacon and Sunday teacher in China Spring Baptist Church.
He married Margaret Grayson in 1935.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Shirley) Grube of China Spring; a brother, Jake Pierce of China Spring; and two granddaughters, Betty Jane Grube and Laura Grube, both of China Spring.
