MARSHALL, Ind. - Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Saturday at the Marshall Baptist Church for John Harmon, 78, of Marshall. He died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday (April 18, 1984) at Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton.

The Rev. Dean Bowman will officiate. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at Rice Funeral Home in Marshall.

He was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church. He was employed with the former Kraft Food Co. in Marshall. He also worked as a custodian for Turkey Run School Corp.

Born March 10, 1906, in Depauw, he was the son of George and Margaret Shaw Harmon. He was married Aug. 15, 1925, in Rockville to Effie Copner, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, John E. of Rockville and Larry R. of Marshall; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Eggers of Middletown; a brother, Ed of Jeffersonville; a sister, Mabel Ergman of Louisville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Deener, and two grandchildren.
