Hazel Beatrice Sauls Church, 80, formerly of Moncure, died Thursday (2/28/08) at her home. She was born June 5, 1927, in Wake County, daughter of the late Esther L. Sauls. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pittsboro. She owned and operated Hazel's Restaruant in Pittsboro for many years. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Howard Stone, and second husband Jesse Samuel Church. She is survived by sons Cecil Stone of Bonsal and Haywood Stone of Moncure; daughters Bonnie Moore of Star and Linda Smith of South Carolina; a brother, Ernest Wood of Sanford; sisters Virginia Denkins of Sanford and Carol Thomas of Moncure; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home of Moncure. Funeral service will be conducted at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
