Mr. Sam Christopher Benincosa, age 87, of Route # 5, Box 27, Laurel Lee, Clarksburg, WV
went to be with the Lord at 10:00 A. M. Thursday, July 30, 2009,
at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following a sudden illness. He was born in Hepzibah, WV, March 7, 1922
a son of the late Anthony Benincosa and
Rose (Oliverio) Benincosa.

His wife of sixty years, Dona Louise (Kuhn) Benincosa, whom he married May 14, 1944,
preceded him in death on December 23, 2004.

Surviving are; a daughter, Priscilla Bumgardner, Bridgeport, WV, one brother,
Frank Benincosa, Fresno, CA, five grandchildren, Jaycen Saab & wife, Chrystie,
Bridgeport, WV, Damian Saab, Morgantown, WV, Lisa Walker, Panama City, FL,
Lori Miller, Monroe, NC and Juli Saab, Bridgeport, WV and several nieces &
nephews.

Mr. Benincosa was also preceded in death by two brothers & seven sisters.

Mr. Benincosa was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
He was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School - Class of 1940. He was an
honored veteran of World War II serving his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Army,
receiving three Purple Hearts & a Bronze Star Medal. Before his retirement,
he was a glassworker at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries, where he
served his local union as president in both Clarksburg & Greensburg, PA.

Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street,
Clarksburg from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. on Friday, where a Vigil Prayer
Service will be held at 3:00 P. M. on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual
Help Catholic Church with the Reverend Father William "Bill" Anderson as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with full
Military Graveside Rites to be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard &
the WV Honor Guard from Camp Dawson.
