Jack Carlton Bradley Sr., died Nov. 21.
Mr. Bradley was born May 29, 1918, in Cheyenne. After graduation from Cheyenne High School class of 1937, he attended the University of Wyoming. At 18 he worked for the CCC at Encampment, building the University of Wyoming Summer Camp.
He married Lola Belle Davis in 1937. They have three children, Linda Allen (Jerry) of Rapid City, S. D., Jack C. Bradley of Casper and Lolly Martin (Bob) of Newcastle. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In 1938, they moved to Osage, where they operated the Manewal-Bradley Refinery for 91/2 years.
Mr. Bradley was the owner-operator of Manewal-Bradley Oil Company Inc., starting in 1921 and Capitol Oil and Gas Corporation, established in 1946. In 1954, Jack and Lola moved to Newcastle and built a home.
The Bradleys donated land in Newcastle for the Weston County Children's Center and for Centennial Park on Stampede Street.
Mr. Bradley enjoyed reading, history, fishing, old cars and airplanes. As a young man, he had a deHaviland Moth and he enjoyed flying. He and Lola belonged to the Rapid City 39 Dance Club and attended the Rapid City Symphony regularly. They have danced together for 73 years and enjoyed big band music
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; his parents, Walter J. and Mable Heaney Bradley of Cheyenne; and three brothers, Buzz, Bob and Tom, all of Cheyenne.
