Mrs. Lancaster was born in Brunswick County on November 25, 1923 and was the daughter of the late John Paul and Lillie Chadwick Hewett. She was preceded in death by her son, James Linwood Lancaster and her husband Lacy Lancaster. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier.
She is survived by three grandsons, Jarrett Lancaster of New York, Greyson Lancaster of Greensboro, Christopher Lancaster of Rhode Island; a brother, Maxie Hewett of Supply; a sister, Juanita Smith of Supply.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 26, 2010 at 11 am at the chapel of Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service, 1411 N. Howe Street, Southport with Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery, Supply.
