Paul H. Knepper, 85, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, for the last three weeks, and formerly of McConnellsburg, died Tuesday, August 19, 1997, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born March 8, 1912, in Hustontown, he was a son of the late William and Grace Barnett Knepper.

He married Thelma LaRue Deshong in 1933. She died in 1995.
In the 1930s and 1940s he owned the McConnellsburg Dairy and was an automobile salesman. He was also a heavy equipment operator for construction work most of his life.

He was a Methodist and a charter member of McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Mrs. Ronald) Clippinger of McConnellsburg; two sons: Harold P. of Tacoma, Wash., and Carl D. of State Line; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Stevens of McConnellsburg and Beatrice Walker of Harrisonville; and two brothers: Norman of Three Springs and Wilmer of Chambersburg.

In addition to his wife, a sister, two brothers and a great-granddaughter preceded him in death.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 1997, in Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Inc., 322 N. Second Street, McConnellsburg, with Rev. Donald Bard officiating. Burial was made in Center Methodist Cemetery, Hustontown.
