Patricia A. Chambers, 68, Clarkston
Patsy went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, after a 12-year fight with cancer. She passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston with her family at her bedside.
Patsy was born to Elmer and Geraldine Crawford Johnson on Oct. 10, 1942, in Winchester, on her grandma's kitchen table. Her grandma use to tell her that she tried to crawl off the table right after she was born.
Patsy went to grade school in Craigmont and moved to the Kamiah area when she was in the sixth grade. She went to school there until her senior year, when she married Tom Lockhart. Patsy and Tom moved many times, and he had many jobs. They lived in California and Oregon, but mostly in Idaho. They had three children. While raising her family, Patsy worked as a nurses aide in nursing homes. As the children got older she decided to get her general education development certificate and go back to school to become a nurse.
Patsy and Tom moved to Lewiston, and Patsy went to school at Lewis-Clark State College. It was hard work for her to study and raise children. Patsy divorced Tom during this time. She graduated from Walla Walla Community College, Clarkston Center, in July 1977, as a licensed practical nurse.
One week later, she married Mike Chambers. She went to work at Tri-State Convalescent Center and worked there for 12 years as an LPN. Patsy then decided to become a registered nurse. After graduating from WWCC, Clarkston Center, in 1989, with an associate's degree, she went to work in the dialysis unit at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston. After four years she went to work at Tri-State Health Rehabilitation Center, and four years later she went to work at Life Care Center in Lewiston. After working there for six years, she started to lose her battle with cancer and retired.
Patsy enjoyed many craft activities like knitting, crocheting, plastic craft, latch hooking and sewing. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, traveling, and being around her family and friends.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Mike; her three children, Carol and Norm Brown, Bill and Colleen Lockhart, and Lewis and Tina Lockhart; and two stepchildren. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ginny Agnew; and two brothers, Artie and Dave Johnson.
Service Saturday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home, Lewiston, with burial to follow at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in the Lewiston Orchards.
