Georgia, USA
Death: Aug. 22, 1851
Carrollton

"General William Beall was a very early settler of Carroll County. He settled on Buck Creek, four miles north of Carrollton where he lived and died. He was a General of the Militia, a farmer and sometimes politician. He represented Carroll County in the State Senate in 1832, 1833, 1836 and 1841. He raised a large family of noble boys and good girls. In order to remember the names of all the boys and impress them on the mind, the youngest son, now Col. John B. Beall wrote and sang the names to the tune of that good old song about old Noah etc, thus: 'There was old father Noah and ten thousand more, prayed as they journeyed along. There was Otho, and August and Thomas and William and James and Noble and John'--seven in all. The girls were Mary, Martha and Millie."
