Scannell, 68, of 200 14th St., who died at 11:18 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Hospital, will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry g. Riordan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The former Viola Merjay was born Feb. 14, 1898, in the Town of Osceola, daughter of Henry and Eugenia Krell Merjay. She was married to Mr. Scannell on Oct. 23, 1918 at Our Lady of Angels Church, Armstrong. Mrs. Scannell was a member of St. Joseph‘s Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella and Mitchell Community Club. Survivors include her widower; fours sons, Leo and Thomas of the city, Robert, Kewaskum, and James, Ardmore, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. James Twohig, Armstrong, and Mrs. Allen Guell of Campbellsport; 35 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harold Flood, city; and one brother, Henry Merjay, Rosendale. She was preceded in death by one daughter. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
