He was born in Bear Park, Fertile, Minnesota and he died in Falls Hospital, International Falls, Minnesota. He was the third of nine children.
Alf went to 4th grade and educated himself by reading everything he could get his hands on. He was the most serious of the brothers. He enlisted in the Army in WWI, played trombone in the band, spent time in France.
After the war in 1922, he moved to International Falls, Minnesota. He played with local dance bands in the area during the 20s and early 30s. He was an ardent hunter and fisherman and an expert woodsman. Spent most of his leisure time in the Big Falls, Minnesota area at the hunting shack - Rodney Wayne Johnson.

Specifically: the cemetery office has no record of this person. According the sexton there is no record of Mr. Johnson's grave. The funeral director at the Green-Larson funeral home stated that Johnson was cremated.
