William E. Anders
Services for William E. Anders, 74, of
2211 Myers Lane, will be held at 10 am
Tuesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
He died at 3:18 a.m. Saturday, April 27
2002, in Fort Wayne VA Hospital, Fort
Wayne.
Born Aug. 29, 1927, in Winamac, he
was the son of Delbert Glen and Verna
Yeargean Anders. He was married
on Nov. 3,1954, in Logansport, to Ruby J.
Hale, who survives.
Mr. Anders retired from the Pennsylvania
Railroad, where he had been employed for
at least 28 years as a locomotive engineer.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during
World War II.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 3790, American Legion Post 60,
Logansport Eagles Club and the Refuge
Ministry Church, where he was past vice
president of the men's fellowship.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed
fishing, hunting and mushrooming.
Also surviving are one Son and daughter-
in-law, Larry G. and Garnett Anders,
Huntington; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Kathy S. and Rex Wilson, Logansport,
and Priscilla and William Worl, Peru; one
brother and sister-in-law, Norman G. and
Lillian Anders, Leesburg, Fla.; one sister
and brother-in-law, Norma A. and Vic
Winegardner, New Waverly; eight grand
children; and 17 great-grandchildren.
One son, Philip Eugene Anders, preceded
in death.
The Rev. David Payton of Refuge Worship
Center and the Rev. Larry Anders will
officiate at the services. Burial, with
military graveside rites, will be in
Victor Savior Chapel Cemetery, Royal
Center.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Mon-
day in the funeral chapel.
