The son of Stark and Jane King, William Edward ("Eddie") King was a farmer and carpenter born in March 1850 in Robeson County, North Carolina. He married Margret J. "Maggie" Edwards on October 20, 1870 in Robeson County, and they had eleven children, at least eight of whom survived infancy, including: daughters: Dannie King (married name unknown), Mattie Edna King Bailey, Annie Loula "Laurie" King Tolar, Mary King (married name unknown), and Nettie Donnie King Neely Riley and sons: Lawrence Adams King, Lonzo ("Lonnie O.") King, and Earnest B. King (aka Earnest Robert Cain). His heritage was English. After the births of their older children, Margret and Eddie and their children moved from Robeson County, North Carolina to what became Dillon County, South Carolina.
Eddie is probably buried somewhere in either Robeson County, North Carolina or Dillon County, South Carolina where the family moved. I would appreciate any help in zeroing in on the exact cemetery in that area that holds his remains. There is no known photo of Eddie King. I hope one of his descendents will add his photo to this site and solve the mystery of exactly how, where, and when he died and where he is buried.
Thanks so much to Neely and King family researchers for so much of this information. Any errors, however, are mine alone. Please go to the "edit" link on this site with any corrections or additions.
