Ramon Clyde Carter, son of Viola M. Parrish and Danial F. Carter, was born Nov. 26, 1882, at De Soto , Nebr., and passed away Dec. 10, 1961, at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair, Nebr.

The Carters were early settlers in Washington County, Nebr., coming into the state by Missouri river (sic) boat travel and in covered wagons. Many of the family homesteaded in the vicinity of Blair.

Ramon spent most of his boyhood in Washington county (sic). On April 19, 1905, he was united in marriage to Nellie I. Greeno. Six children were born to this marriage, three preceding Mr. Carter in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.

On Febr. 7, 1906, he and his wife were baptized into Christ and took membership with the First Christian Church of Blair. He served the church as a teacher and officer.
In 1913 the family moved to the Superior, Nebr., community, farming in this community until returning to Blair in 1948.

Those surviving him include his wife, Nellie; three daughters, Ruth I. Kofoid of Blair, Elizabeth M. Hendrickson of Sumas, Wash., and Clyda C. Wallace of Sedalia, Mo. Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also mourn his death.

The Carters' membership was with the Christian Church at Nelson at the time of his death.

Services were held at the First Christian Church of Blair Dec. 13 at 2:00. Rev. Gail B. Dunning officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Dunning, soloist, and Mrs. George Ray, organist. Interment was in the Blair cemetery (sic).
