Pameila was the daughter of Louis N. and Annie(LaPlante)Currier. She had eleven siblings. Despite the fact that Pameila grew up in a large family her parents made sure that there was always a roof over their heads and food on the table. The Curriers lived in over crowded tenements in Lawrence,Mass. By all accounts their family was happy. Pameila's parents were both of French descent. She grew up in a strong French culture and went to a French speaking speaking church in Lawrence. *In the mid 1800s to early 1900s there was a lot of prejudice against immigrants in the US. This went as far as discrimination against people who had been born in the US, but had foreign names. In an effort to help prevent his family escape the prejudice Pameila's grandfather, Adolph, changed the family to an American surname of Currier.
