Uberto A. (Bert) Woolever,(85)of 721 Washington St., retired boilermaker at the Murray Iron Works,died Sunday afternoon at St. Francis Hospital. While not in good health for some time, his condition had not been regarded as serious until recently.

He was born at Bloomington, IL. Oct 29, 1867, son of Richard and Edith (Robson) Woolever. On July 15, 1890 he was married at West Point to Clara Etka who survives.

During World War II he was called from retirement to return to his trade of boilermaking at the Murray Iron Works. An ardent fisherman, Woolever agreed with the stipulation he be given time off when he wished to go fishing.

His faith was Presbyterian. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, the Iron Ship Builders and Helpers of America.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, William, Baton Rouge, LA; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Consbrock; Ames, and Mrs. Mabel Nordblad, Ft. Madison; two brothers, Willard Woolever, Brea, CA, and Ray Woolever, Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Rose Cox, San Diego; seven grandchildren. Four sisters and two brothers are dead.

Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Paul Calhoun in charge. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison.
