Funeral Services for 91 year old Elmer Fisher of Magnolia will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 17 at the St. Ann's Catholic church in Logan. Burial will be at the St. Bridget's Cemetery in Magnolia. Mr. Fisher passed away on Saturday, November 13 at the Community memorial hospital in Missouri Valley. Survivors include (omitted for privacy). The Fouts Funeral home in Woodbine is in charge of arrangements where visitation will begin at 2pm on Tuesday, November 16 with a rosary at 6pm.

George Elmer Fisher was born November 20, 1918, to Frank and Emma (Weber) Fisher in Orson, Iowa. He was raised in the Orson area and graduated from Pisgah High School in 1936. Elmer married Pauline McFee on May 26, 1940. The couple farmed and Elmer also worked for Farm Service for 23 years. The couple was blessed with two sons. Pauline died in 1978. Elmer then married Margaret Mary (Spracklin) Peterson on May 26, 1979, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Logan, Iowa. The couple moved into Magnolia in the early 1980s. Elmer became a resident of Westmont Care Center on July 8, 2008.
Elmer was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He enjoyed life on the farm and all the chores that came with the farm. Elmer loved to mow the lawn. He also enjoyed carving wood and watching and feeding birds.
Elmer died on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 24 days.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Pauline Fisher; and sister, Florence Harl. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Fisher of Logan, Iowa; two sons, Tom Fisher and his wife Cynthia of San Diego, California, Tim Fisher of Logan, Iowa; step-daughter, Joan and her husband Gary Small of Mondamin, Iowa; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; sister, Helen Mann of Pisgah, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
