A Noble Lady
Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006. Born January 18, 1923 in Monroe, (Austin) Utah to Joseph Lester Lowe and Lottie Swain Lowe. Married Richard Dale Hunt on April 23, 1945 in the Manti Temple. Their union is eternal. In life they were one, in death they will not be separated. Active all her life serving in leadership and service positions in the community and LDS church. Graduated from South Sevier High School in 1941, attended BYU. Worked in secretarial positions for the State Road Commission, and University of Utah. Her greatest accomplishments were as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Served in the Relief Society and Primary as teacher and counselor. Delegate to the Utah Women's Legislative Council from the Utah Pharmaceutical Association and Sigma Nu Mother's Club. Served on the Boards of the Salt Lake County Association and Utah State Association for Retarded Citizens. Active lobbyist for the passing of historical legislation in 1969 to help handicapped children mainstream in the public school system. Served for over 20 years in the Utah State Pharmaceutical Association Auxiliary, serving as President in 1962. Awarded the Dawn Bain Memorial Award in 1986 for her service to Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Auxiliary. Member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. An accomplished historian, she took great pride and spent many hours compiling family histories and historical family documents, and wrote personal histories of loved ones. Loved to create with her hands and use her artistic talent. She was a dedicated and talented miniaturist, creator of beautiful ceramic art pieces, and artist of 18th Century Decoupage.
