JULIA E TOENJES OF ANAMOSA AREA DIES ON JUNE 18
Julia E Toenjes died Wednesday, June 18 in the Johnson Nursing home, Monticello, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Friday. June 20, at 7 a.m. at Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello. Rev. Harvey Gilbertson is in charge of the services. Burial was in Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers included -----Siebels. Carl Folkers, ---- Toenjes, Irvin Toenjes, ----Herren, and Galin Harms.
She was born January 30, 1884 the daughter of August Toenjes and Margaret Zimmeran Toenjes in Wayne township. She attended Jones county schools. She had worked in the 1 rupm More Anamosa, and Armstongs and Cohans, Cedar Rapids before returning to the Amber community.
Survivors Listed
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Edward Herren and Mrs. Herman Folkers, Anamosa and Mrs. Ed Meigier, Denver, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers.
