Katie was married to Joseph Michael Urbain on April 11, 1893 at St. John's Catholic Church in Placid, Iowa. They were the parents of eleven children - Mary Priscilla, Nora Bernadette, Joseph Quirin, Francis, John, Thomas James, Michael Xavier, an unnamed baby girl, Daniel Anthony, Cyril William and Kathleen Elizabeth.
Katie served the rural community as a midwife. Katie died of cancer on June 25, 1944, on the same farm where she was born in Dubuque County.
