Eva G. HARTMAN, 87, South Bend, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday at Healthwin Hospital, South Bend.
She was born Marc 1, 1903 in Marshall County to Clinton I. and Wilnette McCLURE ALDERFER. She lived in the South Bend area most of her life. Her first marriage was to Mr. SHEETZ, who preceded in death. On Oct. 27, 1930 she married H. Earl HARTMAN, who died Oct. 14, 1985.
She was a member of the River Park United Methodist Church, the White Shrine of Jerusalem and was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star and past loyal matron of the order Amaranth, South Bend Court II.
Surviving are a daughter, Louise B. SMITH, Tustin, Calif.; a son, Richard D. SHEETZ, South Bend; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith CLEVENGER, Rochester, and Louetta MARTENS, Eastman, Ga., and a brother, Lester [ALDERFER], Rochester.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, with the Rev. Ken OVERMYER officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. Eastern Star Memorial Service.
