Carl Edward Ownby, 62, of Halls, formerly of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was a mechanic.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Halls Funeral Home. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Allen Ownby and wife, Beth, of Murfreesboro, and Jonathon Edward Ownby of Newbern; his mother, Velma Woodley Ownby Palmer; a stepsister, Nancy Strawn and husband, Tom, of Jackson; a stepbrother, Ike Palmer and wife, Sylvia, of Dyersburg; a grandson, Cayden Ownby of Murfreesboro; a brother-in-law, John Dillahay of Dyersburg; two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Carl Ownby; a sister, Maxine Dillahay; and a stepfather, Moody Palmer.
Pallbearers will be Kerry McLaughlin, Lynn Bevis, Shayne Ownby, Jeff Ownby, Jeff Holt, Mike Hamie and Kenny Trancis.
