When she died at age 24 she had managed to fill 84 volumes of a diary with passionate observations and candid descriptions of the famous people she knew personally. It was published posthumously to the consternation of many who were in the books. She was a promising painter. Most of her work went to the Russian Museum at St. Petersburg. Died of tuberculosis.
