Second daughter HRH Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna Romanovna of Russia.
Paternal granddaughter of King George I of the Hellenes and Grand Duchess Olga Constantinovna Romanovna of Russia.
Maternal granddaughter of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich Romanov of Russia and Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
Born at Tatoi Palace, Elizabeth was considered the most beautiful of her sisters. And she was the least well-known.
Although she was a talented artist like her father, she was also an expert horsewoman and preferred horses rather than art.
On 10 January 1934, she married Karl Theodor, Graf zu Törring-Jettenbach, and settled down to life on their Bavarian estate.
The couple had a son and a daughter.
Elizabeth died of cancer in München (Munich) and is buried in the family cemetery of the Grafs zu Törring-Jettenbach at Winhöring.
She was survived by her husband; son, Hans Veit Graf zu Törring-Jettenbach; daughter, Helene Gräfin zu Törring-Jettenbach; her mother, HIH Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia, Princess of Greece and Denmark; and sisters, HRH Princess Olga of Yugoslavia and HRH Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent.
