FLOYD KIDWELL DIES MONDAY [Feb. 6, 1967]

Floyd E. Kidwell, who had been a Montgomery City business man for more than fifty years, died Monday morning enroute to Audrain Hospital. He had been in failing health and had been in the hospital but had returned home last Saturday.

Mr. Kidwell and Joe A, Marlow, Sr. operated the Union Hardware Store located on Second Street for 42 years terminating their business in June 1960. Prior to that time Mr. Kidwell and Mr. Marlow operated an undertaking establishment, which was also located on Second Street. The funeral service, which was operated in connection with a furniture store, was sold to Boone Schlanker in 1946.

Mr. Kidwell was born July 15, 1882, in Williamsburg, the son of Z. R. and Lucy Dyson Kidwell. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Sharp Kidwell; a daughter Mrs. Lela Nolen of Pittsburg and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Schlanker Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the city cemetery.

The Rev. Wilburn Longstreth, pastor of the Montgomery City Methodist Church was in charge of the service.
