Funeral for William H. "Red" Sandusky, 90, of Decatur will be Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Ninth Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenny Baskins and the Rev. Randy VanLandingham officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. . Sandusky, who died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital, was born July 25, 1916, in Decatur to Clarence and Arrie Sandusky. He was a lifelong member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for 53 years. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. His first wife, Myrtice Sanders Sandusky, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Sandusky; two daughters, Debora Sandusky and Mary White and her husband, Russ, all of Decatur; two sisters, Dorothy Burleson and Katherine Ford, both of Decatur; and two grandchildren, Emily White and Will White. Memorials may be made to Ninth Street United Methodist Church.
