My dad was born and raised in Talladega County, Al. He was the next to the youngest of 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is buried next to his parents, John and Edna Hutto and his oldest brother John. He left home at 18 and joined the USN during World War II and stayed and served his country for almost 30 years sailing the world. He saw ground action in Korea and Vietnam and achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Hazel Clark for 60 years. They had 2 children, 6 grandchildren and now 5 great grandchildren. Ralph was a man's man and loved working with his hands, always building or remolding something. He didn't drink or smoke and after his retirement from the Navy he settled in his hometown of Munford, Al and was a deacon for many years at Munford Baptist Church. Ralph suffered a stroke late in life leaving him with right sided paralysis but died of complications from Alzheimer's disease in 2004 at home with his family beside him. He was an honest and hardworking man who is truly missed. We have been blessed to have had him in our lives and he leaves a legacy for us to follow.
