Early in life she gave her heart to God and united with the Methodist Church. By her pure unselfish character, her kindness and charity towards all, her memory will forever bear in the hearts of her children, her friends and neighbors. She was a great sufferer for years with lung trouble but God in is wisdom spared her to her family until they have grown to men and women. She lived for those she loved, always thinking and planning for their comforts and happiness. In the year 1903 on September 10, she united in marriage with J.B. Overman with whom she lived with until death separated them. It is hard to give mother up but the Heavenly Father said, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth, they shall rest from their labors and their work do follow them.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at 2:00 Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. W.S. Kight and Rev. W.L. Clapp after which the remains, followed by a large concourse of friends and neighbors, were tenderly laid to rest in the IOOF Cemetery.
