|Birth: ||Feb. 8, 1933|
|Death: ||Jan. 8, 2007|
North Carolina, USA
Born the eldest child, having a younger brother and younger sister.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy after graduation. My dad stood 6'8". Try as he might, he kept knocking himself out during drills on the ship. Finally, I guess his superiors felt sorry for him and he was honorably discharged.
His first job out of the military was as an electrician with the Erie Railroad. He eventually landed a job at General Tire & Rubber Company.
He was a Master Mason with Portgage Lakes #752, Akron, Ohio. He was a fan of blue grass music, find a word puzzles and beer. He loved cardinals (red birds) and would watch them every chance he got, I guess I should say when NASCAR wasn't on! Was a member of the Arbeiter Saengerbund Freiheit Club of Akron, OH on Moore Road.
Ed worked for 27 years at General Tire & Rubber in Akron. He took early retirement and moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to become a commercial fisherman.
What am I going to do now?
A huge THANK YOU to Sherri for sponsoring my Dad's memorial! Her kindness and generosity will not be forgotten.
Grief never ends, but it changes.
It is a passage; not a place to stay.
The sense of loss must give way
if we are to value the life that was lived.
